Edmond 'Pete' SwindellMary Jean (Squires) Swindell

Mon, Jun 25, 2012
Mary Jean accompanied him on her Q-chord. They performed for their local churches and participated in jam sessions with other friends in the camping world. Mary Jean took classes at the college in Casa Grande, Ariz., and began the challenge of learning Spanish. In addition, she did extraordinary beadwork, creating many beautiful pieces. Her other talents included knitting and crocheting, which she did while Pete drove them from place to place. There was never a time when they didn’t have something new to learn, someone to visit with or a new sight to see. Their lives were full and they enjoyed every minute of their time together, even those times when they were lost and had no clue as to how to turn that big motorhome around to get back on the correct route. Their love and devotion to each other was evident to anyone who knew them. As long as they were together they were happy. They were part of a community of full-time RV’ers. Their extended family of travel friends grew as they moved from location to location. They had a network of friends who would all meet up at various times of the year to share stories, play music and enjoy each other’ company. They were never lonely or bored. It was a new day every day and open to all possibilities.Survivors include their daughter, Arlene Nelson, son-in-law, David Nelson, and one grandson, Jason Nelson. Over the past 30 years, Arlene has brought many other surrogate family members into this family. Those include Candi, Tyler, Billie and Whyatt, and Paul, Marrah, Todd and Janelle and Jared. Pete and Mary Jean loved each and every one that sat at the dinner table and accepted them all as part of their family. Pete and Mary Jean were also loved by several nieces and nephews from Montana, Texas, Kentucky and Colorado. They will be missed by many.A final Memorial Service will be held for Pete and Mary Jean on Saturday, June 30 at 3 p.m. at the Celebration Community Fellowship, located west of Lewistown on Highway 87 across from Snowy Mountain Motors.
