She worked as a secretary and an administrative supervisor in Kokomo, Indiana, Jacksonville, Florida, and Providence, Rhode Island from 1940-45, in order to support the war effort on the home front, and be with Frank until he was shipped overseas. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Funeral servicescelebrating the life of Clifford V. Samuels will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Calvin Kolzow of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis will officiate.  Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.  In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow the service.
