Mervin R. ‘Bud' Greenman

May 26, 2010. Bud had worked as a carpenter all of his life until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Eugene, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1273, and past member of the Springfield Elks Lodge. He enjoyed snowbirding, fishing and working in his carpenters shop. Bud is survived by his daughters, Sharon Pride of Hemet, Calif., and Colleen Greenman of Bend; son Larry Greenman of Walton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Hazel Bottcher and Francis Thill. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. A memorial service will be held later. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Contributions in his memory may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and sent in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. County, on Sept. 8, 1942, son of the late Willie Raymond Allen and Mary Magdeline Fitzgerald Allen. Wes worked as a millwright for many years and was a member of the Twin Cities Carpenters and Joiners Union of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minn. He was also a member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge and the Blue Ridge Bear and Coon Club. He was a huge baseball fan, and before his health started to fail, he was an avid hunter. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 9, 2011, at 3:00pm at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler and the Rev. Dr. Charlie Cooper officiating. Mrs. Brinson will lie in state an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Screven Memorial Cemetery.
