His goal: fly to Salt Lake City in his 1960 Cesna, retrieve Sebesta, and bring her back home. Pilots for Christ is a nation-wide, non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization that unites private pilots to fly sick or needy individuals all over the country, free of charge. He was very proud of his Dixie heritage and of his father's Utah National Guard military service as Sergeant "Mac" of the St. George Armory. He followed in his father's footsteps by joining the Utah National Guard, serving in the 222nd.
