Chris Paul in the offseason. Last year, a Monday night matchup between the two teams might have ended up as a Blake Griffin dunk viewing contest stuffed inside a 30-point OKC blowout, perfectly in line with the Clippers’ habitually inferior play.
Things have changed. The Clippers beat the Thunder Monday, 112-100, in a game that seemed over in the second quarter, when four straight three-pointers pushed their lead from six to 18 in under a minute. Spiritually, the game ended in the third quarter, when Griffin rose above Thunder center Kendrick Perkins for a dunk that might’ve broken the Twitter server...

Mr. Wiles was one of three African-Americans to pass the firefighters exam in the early 1950s, launching for him a 30- year career in the Buffalo Fire Department. Under Mayor James D. Griffin, Mr. Wiles became the first minority appointed to the position of lieutenant in charge of the Buffalo Fire Department’s arson division. He retired in 1982.
He was a 73-year member of New Hope Baptist Church and was an active member of its choir and board of trustees. Mr. Wiles also was the founder and owner of Comet Flasher Services, a sign and banner company, which he started in 1976. Mr. Wiles sold the company in 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Cartilda Carter; and a sister, Joanne Wiles Browne.
A funeral service was set for 11 a. m. today in New Hope Baptist Church, 543 Richmond Ave.

Commission, told GreenvilleOnline.com that the 27 Skelton Precinct, which normally votes at the B.J. Skelton Career Center, will vote across the street Saturday in the Tri City Baptist Church (1401 Griffin Mill Rd Easley, S.C. 29640).
Allen said the career center isn’t being used due to renovations.
Belangia said notices about a change in poll locations are sent to voters unless they have used the same polling location for more than two elections. “It’s all according to how long we’ve been at the location,” Belangia said.
He said in finding new locations for people to vote, “We try to keep it in the middle of the precinct because sometimes these polling places are on the edge.”
The relocations have had little to no impact on voter turnout, Belangia said.
“People who are going to vote will find that polling place,” he said. “We may have one or two that says, ‘Forget this. I’m not going over there.’ But those are very minor numbers.’”
