Wilbur Hartsell and wife, Doris Auxvasse; daughters, Frances Hartsell, Troy, Charlene Yake and husband, Wayne, Port Huron, Mich.; Mary Bufford and husband, Kirk of Louisiana; Dorothy Cochran, Lawton, Okla.; two brothers, Warren Hartsell, Phoenix, Ariz., and Williard (Smokey) of Westland, Mich; one sister, Fanny Lopp of Centerline, Mich.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Orville, Jay, Thomas, Luther, Glenwood, Harry, Charles and Billy Joe and two sons, Fred and Norman Hartsell.Stanley lived in Missouri until December 1941 where one child was added to their union. Then  moved to Michigan where Stanley worked at Holley Carburetor until 1958 when the company was sold and it moved to Canada. Woolf on June 29, 1952 at Holy City Chapel in Lawton,Ok. at the end of his enlistment. The couple lived in Byron before moving to Stewartville in 1956. Bob was employed as a draftsman in the enginering section at Minnesota Department of Transporation in Rochester for 35 years until his retirement in 1991. Nadine was a home economics teacher for a few years in Byron and Stewartville and for 20 years in the Spring Valley district.In 1977 the Nickums built a house on the Nickum family farm in Pleasant Grove Twsp. and Bob farmed for a few years after his retirement. They had continued to live on the farm until October of this year, before moving to Stewartville. He was a longtime active member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ where he served as elder and treasurer for over 30 years and taught adult education for 20 years. He was a member of the Stewarville American Legion Post 164 and the Stewartville Lions. He enjoyed ice and roller-skating, water and snow-skiing, reading, and fishing. She was preceded in death by: her husband and “love of her life,” Ed; her parents; and two brothers, Joe and Lawrence Aubert. The family would like to extend a special note of appreciation to the staff at Heritage Assisted Living for the kindness, love and compassion which they showed to Mom during her time there. The family would also like to express its sincere appreciation to St. Joseph’s Hospice for their wonderful support during Mom’s last weeks at Heritage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire, with Father William A. Dhein officiating. House Speaker Kris Steele and Marshall Clement, a national expert on criminal justice reform, will discuss the status of Oklahoma's criminal justice system next week during town hall presentations in Lawton, Enid and Muskogee. Local elected officials and those involved in the criminal justice system are expected to attend. The town hall presentations are presented by Steele, R-Shawnee, who authored legislation this past session changing prison policies in the state, as well as the Council of State Governments Justice Center, which has been in Oklahoma for the past several months looking at the state's criminal justice system. The Lawton meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at Cameron University; the Enid session is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on the branch campus of Northwestern Oklahoma State University; and the Muskogee meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Muskogee Civic Center. Sulo J. Minkkinen, 88, of Cloquet passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at his home. He was born April 9, 1923, in Lawton, ND. Sulo served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked as a master electrician for Diamond Match in Cloquet and also the Conoco Refinery in Wrenshall. A memorial service will be held on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. A full obituary will be in the Sunday, November 6, edition.
